Product Description
Product Overview

The PI25 Series is a 25μm polyimide (PI) film manufactured via polycondensation of pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) and 4,4'-oxydianiline (ODA), followed by casting, imidization, and stretching. This amber-colored film offers exceptional thermal stability, electrical insulation, and mechanical strength. With a thickness of 25±3μm, PI25 withstands 288°C±5°C for 10 seconds, exhibits low water absorption (<4.0%), and provides excellent dielectric properties. It is supplied in rolls on a 76mm rigid paper core, ideal for demanding electronic, and industrial applications.

Applications

PI25 polyimide film is trusted across multiple high-reliability industries:

  • Electrical Insulation – Layer insulation for motors, transformers, generators, and battery packs. Prevents short circuits at high voltages.
  • High-Temperature Masking – Used as a coverlay or protective film during solder reflow, wave soldering, and hot bar soldering processes.
  • Automotive – Wire and cable wrapping, thermal shielding, and insulation in engine compartments where temperatures exceed conventional material limits.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: Can PI25 be used continuously at 260°C?
A: PI25 is rated for 288°C±5°C for 10 seconds (peak). For continuous operation at 260°C, the film will perform well but may exhibit slight discoloration. Long-term exposure (>1000 hours) above 240°C should be validated with your specific process.

Q2: Is PI25 the same as Kapton?
A: PI25 is a general-purpose polyimide film chemically similar to Kapton (DuPont trademark). It meets equivalent thermal, electrical, and mechanical specifications but is offered at a competitive price point. Always test for your specific application.

Q3: How should I store PI25 polyimide film?
A: Store in original packaging at 18–25°C and 40–70% RH, away from direct sunlight. Maximum shelf life is 6 months. Keep the roll wrapped to prevent dust and moisture absorption.

Q4. Can I get free samples?
Free samples are available, buyer only pays shipping cost.

Q5. What certifications do you have?
ISO 14001:2015.
